High chromium cast iron is the abbreviation of high chromium white cast iron, which is a wear-resistant material with excellent performance and is particularly valued. It has much higher wear resistance than alloy steel, and much higher toughness and strength than ordinary white cast iron. At the same time, it also has good high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. In addition, it is easy to produce and has moderate cost, so it is known as one of the best anti-abrasive wear materials in contemporary times. High chromium cast iron generally refers to alloy white cast iron with a Cr content of 11-30% and a C content of 2.0-3.6%.
1) Wear resistance of high chromium cast iron
High chromium cast iron has excellent wear resistance and is an excellent friction material. Its excellent wear resistance is mainly due to the large amount of chromium carbides in the internal microstructure. 3) High temperature performance of high chromium cast iron
High chromium cast iron also has outstanding high temperature performance. It can maintain high hardness and strength for a long time at high temperature without obvious softening, embrittlement and other phenomena. The microstructure of the chromium element changes at high temperature, forming a relatively complete chromium oxide protective film, which effectively protects the performance of the material.
